International relations and European projects
In order to establish and reinforce international relationships, the “International Relations and European Affairs Department”, takes part in the expansion of European and international activities and welcomes international delegations. The department is in charge of pursuing relations with international organizations, signed cooperation agreements, participate at international conferences, activities involved in the area of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and therefore the promotion of international networks.
It also provides the coordination of national and international studies on the establishment and development of the technological park model, reflection on the new policies put in place to promote innovation, technology transfer, incubation, capital risk. It is also greatly involved in the study of clusters in Europe, their developments and supportive policies to put into place. It works closely with European authorities and institutions, notably with the European Parliament, the Central European Bank, the European Commission, and the Regions Comity but also with the OCDE and the World Bank.
The Foundation Sophia Antipolis takes part in projects that are supported by the European Union, in particular the General Directors of businesses, Regional Research and Europaid. With this title the Foundation works with numerous experts in the areas of innovation and research policies, incubation, risk capital, telecentre and the promotion of the technological park, etc.
Multiple areas of Excellence, innovative abilities of big companies, start-ups and academic environments are networked at a European level but also at a worldwide level. Participating in international networks that are dedicated to innovation, is today one of the main areas of the policy management at the Foundation Sophia Antipolis, which is at the origin of the creation of a number of these networks.
For each delegation that visits Sophia Antipolis, the Foundation Sophia Antipolis organises visits of the park, and meetings with companies that comply with the interests of both parties. Such visits contribute to the international development and radiation of Sophia Antipolis. The assets of the park are also presented to the delegation, and the possibility of forming agreements with companies and research centres of the technological park.
